The Benghazi Accountability Review Board report was released in December of last year and resulted in a small number of resignations (see update below). The ARB report was highly critical of mid-level State Department employees in regards to the response, or lack thereof, to the Benghazi attack.
However, Hillary Clinton and President Obama emerged unscathed by the report. One possible reason is that it’s a tremendous asset when you get to choose 80 percent of the people who will be investigating your department’s competence.
Update: The officials who originally resigned after the report was released are now back at work.
