Phillies star pitcher admits to hitting Nationals phenom!/oodlesofnoodlez/status/199534043556085760

We guess you can cross off the Washington Nationals as a team that will be pursing Phillies pitcher Cole Hamels this coming offseason.

Hammels told reporters after last nights game that he purposely drilled Nats phenom Bryce Harper as a “Welcome to the big leagues moment.”

Nats GM Mike Rizzo was none too pleased, calling Hamels a “fake tough guy” and deserved to be suspended for such a “classless, gutless act.”

None other than Curt Schilling took to his twitter account to call out Hamels.

"making it not that old-school, prestigious way of baseball" What the hell does that even mean? I'm old, I'm a former player, I don't get it

@agbarlow3 Cole Hamels couldn't hold my jock in the control department, check the numbers. He can throw at anyone he wants, imo it was stupid

But Hamels does have his supporters.

Mike Rizzo needs to shut up, there is NO Phillies/Nationals rivalry and Cole Hamels rocks.
