‘Never … ceases to amaze’: Guess Obama forgot he’s ‘not interested in photo ops’

http://twitter.com/#!/redsteeze/status/525727932959170561

It’s pathetic.

As Twitchy reported, President Obama wasted no time in turning newly Ebola-free nurse Nina Pham into his latest photo op.

Did White House inadvertently publicly identify CIA station chief in Kabul?

http://twitter.com/#!/mrosenbergNYT/status/470629246818594816

President Obama made a surprise appearance in Afghanistan on Sunday.

There is now buzz that the White House revealed the name of the CIA station chief in Kabul to a pool of reporters:

http://twitter.com/#!/rajivwashpost/status/470613131199139840

A huge blunder, if the reports are accurate.

Garry Kasparov: Assad and Putin deserve each other

Aschairman of the Human Rights Foundation, Garry Kasparov is no friend of Vladimir Putin, and as a world chess champion, he’strained his mind to think several steps ahead of the competition. Therefore, it’s hardly bragging when he notes that it was almost two months agowhen he predicted that a Turkish pilot might put spectatorPresident Obama into an uncomfortable position.

As Twitchy reported this morning, Turkish pilots in F-16s shot down a RussianSU-24 bomber on the border of Turkey and Syriaafter reportedly warning several times that the bomber was over Turkish airspace.

It’s a shame the U.S. State Department’s #UnitedForUkraine signsand selfies just weren’t enough to convincePutin to liveby the power of hashtag.Instead, he rolled his tanks right over several of President Obama’s red lines into Ukraine.

Russian generals haven’t been shy about telling American pilots to clear out of Syrian airspace either.

So what’s next for Putin and for Obama?

Ed Schultz goes full jackwagon: Republicans are politicizing ‘Berghazi’

Another smart and classy MSNBC take on the Bowe Bergdahl swap:

http://twitter.com/#!/Tyler_McNally/status/473570353407877120

According to Ed Schultz, “the real story” is about “fear-mongering” Republicans like Canadian Ted Cruz from Canadian Canada trying to “make President Obama look bad.” Just another “phony scandal” like Benghazi. Bonus: “There’s nothing American about Ted Cruz.”

Report: President briefed on ‘attack’ on Benghazi, not protest or video

http://twitter.com/#!/JamesRosenFNC/status/422853316360417280

Fox News’ James Rosen is reporting that newly declassified documents show that, minutes after the initial terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, the president was briefed on an “attack,” not a protest or a video. Rosen reports:

Minutes after the American consulate in Benghazi came under assault on Sept. 11, 2012, the nation’s top civilian and uniformed defense officials — headed for a previously scheduled Oval Office session with President Obama — were informed that the event was a “terrorist attack,” declassified documents show. The new evidence raises the question of why the top military men, one of whom was a member of the president’s Cabinet, allowed him and other senior Obama administration officials to press a false narrative of the Benghazi attacks for two weeks afterward.

That member of Obama’s cabinet was then-Secrertary of Defense Leon Panetta.

Panetta told the Senate Armed Services Committee in February of last year that it was him who informed the president that “there was an apparent attack going on in Benghazi.” “Secretary Panetta, do you believe that unequivocally at that time we knew that this was a terrorist attack?” asked Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla. “There was no question in my mind that this was a terrorist attack,” Panetta replied.

Martha MacCallum hits Congress & POTUS for delayed outrage about VA

http://twitter.com/#!/martysmith123/status/472003299907239936

Since taking office, President Obama has repeatedly promised to “fulfill our sacred trust and serve our returning heroes as well as they’ve served us.” Over and over, the perpetual campaigner vowed that health care services for veterans would improve under VA Secretary Eric Shinseki’s leadership. And yet, here we are.

As Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum notes, the VA’s unacceptable treatment of American heroes is not a new story. These late expressions of “outrage” from Obama and members of Congress? Color MacCallum unimpressed:

http://twitter.com/#!/cancanwalls/status/472003705219194880
http://twitter.com/#!/TalismanJohnnyA/status/472006093959200769

Action and accountability speak louder than newfound outrage and sending Shinseki to bed without dessert.

http://twitter.com/#!/michellemalkin/status/472011423829479424

Which reminds us, guess who’s still “reserving judgment” instead of joining the chorus of calls for Shinseki to resign or be fired:

http://twitter.com/#!/marthamaccallum/status/472021717460996096

Leadership.

POTUS proud of NBA for joining Everytown’s gun control effort

Michael Bloomberg’s gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety has scored quite a coup by convincingseveral NBA stars to appear inits new video. The New York Times reportsthat the idea originated with director Spike Lee, who approachedESPN president John Skipper, who then took the idea toNBA commissioner Adam Silver.

We sincerely didn’t know the NBA had apresident of social responsibility, butKathleen Behrens, who holds the position, told the New York Times, “We know far too many people who have been caught up in gun violence in this country, and we can do something about it.”

The video is available for viewing on YouTube, but comments are blocked, so keep your opinions to yourself.

President Obama, currently on vacation in Hawaii, tweeted his thanks to the NBA for contributing to Everytown’s gun control effort.

Here’s a statement from Bachmann about the visit via the Star Tribune:

“Although President Obama would prefer to play pool instead of visit the border, I want to see firsthand the impact of this administration’s immigration policies,” Bachmann said in a statement.

“I have deep concerns over the failure to enforce border security laws, and I look forward to meet with those tasked with the patrolling the border to hear their thoughts on the growing crisis.”
