Garry Kasparov: Assad and Putin deserve each other

Aschairman of the Human Rights Foundation, Garry Kasparov is no friend of Vladimir Putin, and as a world chess champion, he’strained his mind to think several steps ahead of the competition. Therefore, it’s hardly bragging when he notes that it was almost two months agowhen he predicted that a Turkish pilot might put spectatorPresident Obama into an uncomfortable position.

As Twitchy reported this morning, Turkish pilots in F-16s shot down a RussianSU-24 bomber on the border of Turkey and Syriaafter reportedly warning several times that the bomber was over Turkish airspace.

It’s a shame the U.S. State Department’s #UnitedForUkraine signsand selfies just weren’t enough to convincePutin to liveby the power of hashtag.Instead, he rolled his tanks right over several of President Obama’s red lines into Ukraine.

Russian generals haven’t been shy about telling American pilots to clear out of Syrian airspace either.

So what’s next for Putin and for Obama?

Report: President briefed on ‘attack’ on Benghazi, not protest or video!/JamesRosenFNC/status/422853316360417280

Fox News’ James Rosen is reporting that newly declassified documents show that, minutes after the initial terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, the president was briefed on an “attack,” not a protest or a video. Rosen reports:

Minutes after the American consulate in Benghazi came under assault on Sept. 11, 2012, the nation’s top civilian and uniformed defense officials — headed for a previously scheduled Oval Office session with President Obama — were informed that the event was a “terrorist attack,” declassified documents show. The new evidence raises the question of why the top military men, one of whom was a member of the president’s Cabinet, allowed him and other senior Obama administration officials to press a false narrative of the Benghazi attacks for two weeks afterward.

That member of Obama’s cabinet was then-Secrertary of Defense Leon Panetta.

Panetta told the Senate Armed Services Committee in February of last year that it was him who informed the president that “there was an apparent attack going on in Benghazi.” “Secretary Panetta, do you believe that unequivocally at that time we knew that this was a terrorist attack?” asked Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla. “There was no question in my mind that this was a terrorist attack,” Panetta replied.!/MarketWeight/status/422879743562612736!/Ranger1325/status/422878034752851968!/SueSmith511/status/422879285100040192!/sven10077/status/422879826903445505!/PorkBuster/status/422880126309654528!/ParkergirlUSA/status/422888709680152576!/Patriotic_Pete/status/422886661916082176

Martha MacCallum hits Congress & POTUS for delayed outrage about VA!/martysmith123/status/472003299907239936

Since taking office, President Obama has repeatedly promised to “fulfill our sacred trust and serve our returning heroes as well as they’ve served us.” Over and over, the perpetual campaigner vowed that health care services for veterans would improve under VA Secretary Eric Shinseki’s leadership. And yet, here we are.

As Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum notes, the VA’s unacceptable treatment of American heroes is not a new story. These late expressions of “outrage” from Obama and members of Congress? Color MacCallum unimpressed:!/cancanwalls/status/472003705219194880!/TalismanJohnnyA/status/472006093959200769

We sincerely didn’t know the NBA had apresident of social responsibility, butKathleen Behrens, who holds the position, told the New York Times, “We know far too many people who have been caught up in gun violence in this country, and we can do something about it.”

The video is available for viewing on YouTube, but comments are blocked, so keep your opinions to yourself.

‘Deep concerns’: Rep. Michele Bachmann visits the border [photos]!/davidfair/status/493489346368925697

Here’s a statement from Bachmann about the visit via the Star Tribune:

“Although President Obama would prefer to play pool instead of visit the border, I want to see firsthand the impact of this administration’s immigration policies,” Bachmann said in a statement.

“I have deep concerns over the failure to enforce border security laws, and I look forward to meet with those tasked with the patrolling the border to hear their thoughts on the growing crisis.”!/MicheleBachmann/status/493480411914203136!/BrucePolWatch/status/493481614706368512

Breitbart’s John Sexton draws connection between border crisis and DACA!/verumserum/status/497856823093760000

Breitbart’s John Sexton has found more evidence that the Obama administration acknowledges a connection between the flood of unaccompanied alien children at the U.S.-Mexico border and President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Sexton’s evidence comes in the form of an op-ed written in late June by DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson and published in Central American media in Spanish.!/verumserum/status/497858482821791744

The op-ed read, in part:

The long journey is not only dangerous; there are no “permisos,” “permits,” or free passes at the end.

The U.S. Government’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, also called “DACA,” does not apply to a child who crosses the U.S. border illegally today, tomorrow or yesterday. To be eligible for DACA, a child must have been in the United States prior to June 15, 2007 – seven years ago.

Also, the immigration reform legislation now before Congress provides for an earned path to citizenship, but only for certain people who came into this country on or before December 31, 2011 – two and one half years ago. So, let me be clear: There is no path to deferred action or citizenship, or one being contemplated by Congress, for a child who crosses our border illegally today.

Seems that word of DACA then, if not its limitations, reached as far as Central America, and clarification was needed.!/verumserum/status/497862077235474432!/verumserum/status/497864045567823872!/verumserum/status/497866911900635136
